This build is the Airfix 1:72 Hawker Tempest Mk.V, finished as a fairly quick, enjoyable project that came together over the course of about a week. I wanted to add some weathering to this build but still letting the shape of the aircraft do most of the work.

All painting was done using the Mr Hobby Aqueous range, with HSM 01 Super Fine Silver used where appropriate and H30 Clear Gloss to prepare the surface for decals and washes. The finish was then gently brought to life using AMMO by Mig enamel products, thinned with their Odourless Enamel Thinner. Weathering was kept subtle, using Starship Streaking, Neutral Wash, and just a small touch of Fresh Engine Oil to add depth and a bit of realism without overdoing it.

The kit decals were a real highlight. They went down beautifully with minimal effort and behaved exactly as you’d hope — easily one of those moments where everything just works.

Overall, this was a really satisfying build and a reminder of how much you can get out of a well-designed kit with a simple, carefully layered approach. I’m very pleased with how it turned out.
